An unknown, but sweet plant: strong, with sturdy, shiny leaves and bright flowers. These flowers look a bit like busy Lizzies. The plants bloom all summer, this mixture grows to about 25 cm high. In addition to in flower boxes, the plant can also be grown very well indoors as a houseplant or in the open ground in the garden. In warmer countries, you see these plants more often, because they can withstand drought and heat so well. A special detail is that the plant is a source of vinblastine and vincristine, 2 substances that are used in medicines against leukemia and Hodgkin's disease. Another substance in the plant is ajmalicine, a blood pressure reducer.
Sowing method
Sowing: all year round in a warm spot, the plant can be placed outside from May to September, otherwise it is a nice houseplant.
